Charity and donations
Teleconnect are very happy to be supporting St Gemmas hospice as we know they provide a wonderful caring service to the people who stay there. We have first hand experience of just how brilliant the care is at St Gemmas as a dear colleague of ours from Teleconnect spent his final days there.
Any donation you make will make a big difference to them so please, give what you can and a very big thank you from all of us here at Teleconnect
- St. Gemma's Hospice is the largest hospice in Yorkshire and every year we care for over 2,500 patients and their families
- We care for patients with terminal illnesses and have a 32 bed In-patient Unit, Out-patient Services and a team of Community Nurses who visit patients in their own homes
- We also have an occupational therapist, complementary therapists, physic therapists, social workers and bereavement counsellors
- Bereavement counselling is available to families free of charge and is for both adults and children
- Last year we had 525 new In-patient admissions, our Day services had 1,844 attendances and our Community Nurses made 3,219 visits to patients in their own homes
- All the care and services provided by our doctors, consultants, nurses and therapists is free of charge to patients and their families, however it is not free to provide
- This year it will cost over £8 million to fund all the care and services that we provide. We only receive around one third of this funding from the Government so this year alone we have to raise over £5.5 million from within the local community
- We are very much a local charity caring for local people - every £1 raised in Leeds is spent in Leeds on local people
